In this blog issue we will present our international partners, give an insight into topics and impressions of our ECO DESIGN FORUMs (EDFs) and field trips abroad and present many interesting stories about design, arts and sustainability from an international perspective.
In 2016/17 we cooperated greatly with our cooperation partners from different twin cities of Cologne; Istanbul, Barcelona, Tel Aviv and Bethlehem (Ramallah/Auja). We launched the first EDF international in Tel Aviv and in the Auja Ecocenter/Bethlehem (2016) and the EDF CGN during the ökoRAUSCH Festival in Cologne (2017). International designers, artists, creative thinkers and cultural protagonists were meeting up with sustainability experts to exchange about the relevance of design and arts in social and ecological contexts and about the design and sustainability scenes of different countries.
Now, in 2019/20 we are undertaking research and networking trips to integrate new partner cities into our activities. With Tunis and Thessaloniki we are widening our network on sustainable design in Europe and in the MENA-region (Middle East and North Africa).
So during the next ökoRAUSCH festival you will have the chance not only to admire the works of designers and artists focused on sustainability from all six partner cities in our exhibition but also to meet them in person during our next international EDF.
The Collectif Creatif from Tunis boasts creative projects centered on reviving the Medina, from an international light arts festival over educating youth as tourist guides to urban gardening projects.
To broaden our horizon and explore how design and sustainability come together in other cultures we went on a research and networking trip to Tunis!
