Dr. Laura Henn – Environmental psychology: Dedicated people in sustainability-promoting environments
During the workshop, participants will learn about psychological principles that foster or hinder people’s engagement with sustainable practice and reasoning. They will carve out opportunities how to apply some of those principles to their own work by identifying elements of human interaction in their creative work. We will then revisit them from an environmental psychological perspective, with the aim to support sustainable practice, reasoning, feeling or understanding evoked by their work.
The workshop will be held in English and is limited to a maximum of 20 people.
Laura Henn is a researcher at the Center for Environmental Systems Research an der Universität Kassel. As an environmental psychologist, she is dedicated to the overarching question of how psychological knowledge about the interaction of humans with their environment can help to promote sustainable lifestyles. In her research, she investigates how people’s internal dedication to environmental protection coupled with the external situational conditions determine more or less sustainable behavior.
